My kids love going to their summer program at school while we're at work. One of the parts they love the best is the themed days at the school. My 10 year old suggested that we do the same at home on days they don't go to the summer program. What a brilliant idea to keep them occupied for hours and hours while looking forward to different adventures each day at home. Thus, the Family Staycation Home Program.
Below is just a preview of our list of themes. Some the kids thought of and others I helped them with. As we research day ideas, I'll post on what we could do including crafts, movies or video games, stories, outdoors and games, local field trips, and food ideas. Kudos to the family that pulls off each of the ideas, but they're really just a list to get the brain juices flowing and the family moving to the beat of the themed drum. Once my family completes a theme I'll add how it went and any other suggestions. Please try out the days yourself and comment on what went well, additional recommendations for the theme, and what could be better.
Here's to enjoying themed fun days all year long with the family! Yippee!
